    PASSPORTS

    Passport Application Requirements

    1. Three identical passport-size photographs with a white background
    2. Old Ugandan passport
    3. Duly-filled application forms A & B
    4. €80 for renewal €140 for lost passport
    5. For lost passports, a police report in needed

    Additional Information

    • The Embassy does not issue new passports to new applicants except children
    • Parents applying for children's passports have to attach a photocopy of the mother's valid passport
    • Birth Certificate is needed to show that the child was born in our area of accreditation
    • The Embassy renews expired genuine passports only
    • Lost passports are replaced only if you have a photocopy of the lost passport and a police report.
    • Issuance of a new passport takes two to four weeks

    VISA APPLICATION

    General information (important)

    European nationals holding an EU passports need an entry visa for Uganda.
    Naturalized European citizens of Uganda descent need an entry visa for Uganda.
    Nationals of the countries listed below are exempted from visa requirements for travel to Uganda. They do, however, need to have a current passport issued by their respective countries.

    Members of COMESA: Angola, Burundi, Comoros, Eritrea, Kenya, Malawi Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

    Others exempted are: Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Jamaica, Lesotho, Malta, Sierra Leone, Singapore Solomon Islands St Vincent & the Grenadines, Tonga, Vanuatu, Italy (Only diplomatic passport holders) and Cyprus.

     Visa Requirements:

      One duly-filled Application Form by each applicant

    1. Every section of the application form must be completed. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
    2. 2 passport-sized photographs
    3. Must submit original Passport valid past the date of your expected departure from Uganda.
    4. Correct visa fee.
    5. Applicants may be requested to submit additional supporting documentation.
    6. An international Inoculation Certificate against yellow fever.
    7. A prepaid self-addressed  return envelope only must be included with applications sent by mail.

    N.B. You are advised to ensure that your passport has a validity of at least six months from the date of your intended travel. Processing time for a visa is 2 to 3 working days.

     Visa fees and other details:


    €38 for single entry: Valid for three months from the date of arrival.
    €76 for Multiple entry valid for 6 (six) months

    Visa fees must be paid on submission of visa application. Personal Checks are not accepted. Please note that the visa fee is non-refundable.

    NB: Failure to complete the application form fully may result in the issuance of a visa being delayed or refused. The visa enables the holder to proceed to a port of entry where he/she must comply with the laws and regulations governing the admission of persons to the Republic of Uganda.
